Since moving to Kamloops in 1993, Matt has established himself as the go-to technician for tuning, repairing, servicing, and consultation regarding all things piano in the Kamloops and surrounding Thompson/Cariboo areas, providing courteous, professional, and conscientious piano care.
Services Provided: Tuning, Regulating, Repairs, Voicing, Condition assessments, Appraisals/Evaluations, Purchase consultation, Locating, Moving assistance, and Action rebuilding.
Travel area: As well as Kamloops itself, Matt covers a large area out of the City including Merritt, Logan Lake, and the Thompson/Fraser Canyons; Barriere through Blue River; Cache Creek Clinton, 100 Mile House, Williams Lake, and Quesnel; Sun Peaks, Paul/Pinantan Lakes, Pritchard, and Chase; Falkland/Westwold; The Hwy 24 Corridor; Likely, and Horsefly; and the South Okanagan Communities of Kelowna, Penticton, Oliver, and Osoyoos. Priding himself on flexibility, and a willingness to travel in any weather (he loves Winter driving), Matt is always pleased to take your call, text, or email inquiry as to when he will next be in your area. His approach is full-service based – the piano does not just receive a tuning, but is cleaned and checked over thoroughly; the important details of tone, touch, and pedals are all discussed as to specific needs.
Matt’s training, qualifications, and experience is sourced from a broad base, including his initial studies with the Randy Potter School of Piano Technology (1990), mentorship under some of Vancouver’s best senior technicians (1990-1995), membership and exam accreditation with the Piano Technicians Guild Inc www.ptg.org (2000 to the present) , Yamaha Canada INC. training and work experience to be qualified as one of their Technical Consultants, and ongoing attendance for skills upgrading at Technical Conventions and Workshops. He currently serves as the President of the Vancouver Chapter of the Piano Technicians Guild.
Keeping in touch with the latest service procedures to draw out the best performance from each individual instrument, Matt finds great satisfaction in seeing his customers revel in the enjoyment of musical fulfillment by playing their fully tweaked and spoiled pianos.
